As Heartland Petroleum moves into to the twenty first century, the country's need to limit dependence upon foreign crude imports has been become acutely clear. Heartland strongly believes that conservation and recycling of our natural resources will become a necessity for all Americans. Over 1.3 billion gallons of used lubricating oil is generated annually in the U.S. Approximately one-third of this volume is not recovered, and presumed lost to the environment. Heartland Petroleum has developed an infrastructure of dedicated personnel to deal with responsible generators and to help them become aware of the need to recycle all of their used oil products.
Used oil has become a valuable commodity in the U. S. and around the world. The primary uses for recycled used oil are twofold;
- A quality industrial burner fuel can be produced from recycled oils. This is the direction that Heartland Petroleum has chosen. The demand for this fuel is naturally greater than the supply currently available.
- A base lubricant can also be produced. Although this is a very desirable solution for used oil, it is also very expensive to produce and has a limited marketplace.
The answer does not lie in what products are produced from used oil, but that used oil is in fact used again for the betterment of our society. This is the vision for Heartland Petroleum and the future looks good.
With this corporate vision in plane, Heartland Petroleum's mission is to produce the finest quality industrial burner fuel available, and to serve the Heartland of this nation with the very best recycling alternatives for industrial and commercial generators of used oil products.
Heartland Petroleum currently recycles approximately 15 million gallons of used oil annually. This is a significant volume, but the Company believes it can increase these volumes by 10 to 20 percent per annum over the next five years. This may seem aggressive, but Heartland is striving to be the fastest growing oil recycler in the Midwest. |
