William C. Snedegar
William Snedegar

Bill Snedegar has been involved in petroleum recycling for more than 40 years. He is a second generation oil man. His father, Rex Snedegar Sr. opened the first facility in Central Ohio in 1950.

Mr. Snedegar, the founder of Heartland Petroleum, has been an officer of, or has held a seat on the board of Columbus Road Oil, Petroleum Products, Diamond Energy, Gold Standard Lubricants, and Intercoastal Trading Company. Mr. Snedegar has served on the National Business Advisory Council.

Mr. Snedegar holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the Ohio State University.



Vice President of Administration
Scott Snedegar

 
Scott Snedegar follows a family tradition in petroleum recycling and is a third generation entrepreneur in the oil business. Scott is a member of the Heartland Petroleum Board of Directors and plays a central role in making Heartland business decisions.

Scott also serves as President of Central Ohio Oil and U.S. Vac Service. Mr. Snedegar previously served as President of Oil Works, a Florida corporation.



Vice President of Supply
Robert J. Snedegar

 

Jeff Snedegar has been heavily involved in the petroleum recovery business, following closely in the family tradition. As Vice President of Supply, he oversees operations of the Company's Zanesville, Kentucky and West Virginia offices. Jeff runs all collections on the supply side and also is responsible for fabrication of all facilities and trucks.

Jeff attended the University of Kentucky, playing football for the Wildcats as a starting linebacker and team co-captain. His football honors include being named to the All-SEC team and several All-American teams. After studying Agricultural Business at Kentucky, Jeff started up business in oil recovery. His companies eventually became part of Heartland Petroleum. In addition to his dedication to the oil business, Jeff is heavily involved in the cutting horse business and farming. What little free time he has he spends hunting and fishing.



Vice President of Marketing
K. Gene Gornall

 

Gene Gornall has been involved in the environmental industry since 1983 when he started working for his father who owned Southeastern Waste Oil.

In 1986, US Pollution Control purchased the transportation division of Southeastern Waste Oil and requested Gene to come and manage the PCB Field Service Group. The training and management experience with a national company grew with the purchase of US Pollution Control by Union Pacific Railroad. Gene managed the environmentally safe removal of over 40 million gallons of PCB contaminated oil from utility and industrial customers.

Gene continued working in the environmental industry with Laidlaw Environmental Services after the purchase of the PCB Field Service Group from the Union Pacific Railroad.

Mr. Gornall has various sales and marketing abilities that have allowed him to work closely with the Heartland Petroleum customers and vendors.



Vice President of Operations
William R. Snedegar

 

Randy Snedegar has overseen operations in the petroleum recycling industry since 1994. He currently serves as an officer of Heartland Petroleum overseeing operations as well as transportation.

Mr. Snedegar served as plant manager with Petroleum Products where he oversaw both petroleum recycling operations and waste water disposal. Mr. Snedegar was president of Franklin Petroleum, an Ohio based petroleum recycling company. Mr. Snedegar also served as an advisor to companies in Texas and Maryland.

Mr. Snedegar holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from The University of Toledo



Vice President of Sales
Erica N. Snedegar

 

Ms. Snedegar is a third generation family member in the petroleum recycling industry. Ms. Snedegar grandfather, Rex Snedegar Sr. opened the first used oil facility in Columbus, Ohio back in 1950. In addition to her duties as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Heartland Refinery Group, LLC, she also is Vice President of Sales (feedstock) for Heartland Petroleum, LLC and is very active in both companies’ day to day operations.

Ms. Snedegar holds a seat on the board of Heartland Petroleum, LLC and Heartland Refinery Group, LLC. In addition, Erica has been nationally recognized for her achievements in business and community involvement. Ms. Snedegar is actively involved in various non profit organizations throughout the local community. Erica is also a member in good standing with the National Oil Recyclers Association (NORA) and Independent Lubricant Manufactures Association (ILMA).

Ms. Snedegar holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from The University of Toledo.


ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE
Michael D. Kopf

Mike Kopf is a Certified Safety Professional (BCSP), Certified Ergonomist (BCSP), and a professional member in good standing of the American Society of Safety Engineers. Mr. Kopf is a former Adjunct Professor with The University of Findlay where he instructed master’s degree candidates on the topic of OSHA Law.

Mr. Kopf holds a Bachelor of Science in Aviation from The Ohio State University and a Master of Science in Environmental Management from the University of Finday. Mr. Kopf presently holds FAA Commercial Pilot, Multiengine, Instrument, Flight Instructor, and Advanced Ground Instructor Certificates.


HUMAN RESOURCE GENERALIST
Renee Craig

Renee Craig has been involved in human resources since 2002. Prior to joining Heartland Petroleum, she held the position of HR Generalist with a private mechanical engineering firm.

Renee is a good standing member of the Society for Human Resource Management and is currently studying to become a Professional in Human Resources (PHR). She has also been involved in community outreach programs, such as Elder Care.

Renee holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California State University.


LAB MANAGER
Jared Archer Ph.D.

Jared joined the Heartland team in 2010. Jared received his B.S. in chemistry from Otterbein College, and his Ph.D. in chemical engineering from The Ohio State University. Jared completed a post-doctoral appointment at Leadscope (Columbus, Ohio), an in silico cheminformatics company focused on predictive modeling of toxicological properties for drug discovery. Jared then joined the research and development team at NexTech Materials, a company that relies on materials science, chemistry and engineering to conceive, develop and commercialize unique products that enable energy conservation and reduced polluting emissions for a wide range of power applications.
