Heartland Petroleum handles oil products to ensure cradle to grave assurance of the safe recycling of used oil as per existing USEPA regulatory requirements.
Heartland Petroleum transports and handles all used oil as per current regulatory requirements, including pre-screening of used oil products in cooperation with our customers. All oil is pre-qualified via customer process review and independent laboratory analysis, where needed. All oil must meet existing EPA regulatory criteria for halogens, metals, and PCB content. When necessary, Heartland Petroleum uses EPA qualified lab tests or electronic detectors to scan for halogens.
Oil is transported in Heartland Petroleum trucks. All appropriate DOT, PUCO, and/or state requirements are met. All drivers meet DOT qualifications. All loads are manifested as per current DOT, EPA and state requirements, where applicable.
All oil is stored at EPA registered sites. These facilities regularly undergo company and customer audits for regulatory compliance to EPA and OSHA standards. Our facilities have been audited by in-house compliance personnel and spot-audited by EPA personnel and they have been found to be in compliance with existing regulations.
Heartland Petroleum pre-screens oil clients to ensure that they have appropriate EPA regulatory authority to receive and burn/use recycled oil. Copies of EPA permits for these customers are maintained by Heartland Petroleum. All loads sent to Heartland Petroleum customers are shipped with appropriate bill of lading and have independent certified laboratory analyses attached.
If you have any questions concerning your shipment of used oil, you may contact me directly at 614-441-4001. I will be pleased to speak with you or any of your customers concerning our process, procedures, or plant locations.
Sincerely,

Michael D. Kopf MS, CSP
